Babysitting and Book Fair Temptations

My daughter put out lots of flyers around the neighborhood telling about herself with a picture and how she would love to babysit. Also that she lives right here so she could walk to and from their home. No one called. This is strange to me. Do they not go out on dates or do they already have a babysitter? You would think out of 40 homes or so that you would get at least one call. I feel bad for her as she is such a great babysitter and is trying to earn money for her missions trip to China next year. It is really too bad. I wonder what other ways she could advertise.

My sons bring home these Scholastic book flyers to order books through school it seems every month. I want to order books for them so that when they are delivered to their classroom they will get a few which feels at the time like you won a prize or something. It also fosters an excitement and love for reading which is so important. The problem is, I have HUNDREDS of books in their room that they have yet to read from getting boxes of books at garage sales and library book sales where you get a bag of books for 5 bucks. I really hate spending the money for more books when they don't need it. But, then again, if they are the only kids not getting books delivered on book delivery day, well that is sad as well. Not sure. This Scholastic book flyer has been sitting on my desk for weeks as I ponder if I should order or not. It is staring at me right now. Hmmmmmmm what to do?
